Conservation-Restoration of paintings in pictures
You will find examples in pictures of conservation-restorationinterventions that I carried out on works of various periods (from the XVIIth to the contemporary period), on various supports (canvas and wood panels).
These examples show alterations caused by different factors (environmental, temporal, structural...) and the steps of restoration to resolve them. In a second part, I present work carried out in subcontracting on polychrome works and wall paintings.
Restoration of the altarpiece of the church of Villaines-sous-Malicorne (72), classified as a historical monument, signed Pierre Besnard, and dated 1685. The painting is a copy of the work of Annibal Carracci (1560-1609) "The Holy Family and St. John the Baptist" dated around 1600, National Gallery, London.
Restoration of 6 tempera paintings by Paul Baudry belonging to the collection of the Museum of La Roche-sur-Yon. After the cartoons of Raphael (kept at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London)
